What Can You Control?

We try so hard to be in control when the reality is we have very little control, and yet what we can't control, we choose not to. We choose to engage in activities that don't enhance our mental, physical, or emotional well-being. We control where we go, who we decide to be around, and what we choose to engage in. We decide that the extra slice of cake is most important, even knowing we have diabetes that runs in our family history. Maybe we're pre-diabetic yet; we don't care as we indulge. We know our parent was addicted to substances, yet we can handle one more drink, not realizing where it may lead us. Or maybe we are aware, but for whatever reason, we choose to numb what we're dealing with or even avoid it as best we can by sipping a little more. The point is that we can't control tragedies, we can't control disease, we can't control natural disasters, and we can't control death. The little we can control can give us peace, purpose, and health and promote our overall well-being. Take control of what you can control and live the difference.

Peace, Joy, Love & Light
