Sleep

Sleep is needed in order for you to refuel. If you don't have a regular sleep schedule then it's time to develop a new healthy habit. How many hours do you need a night? You may need to add 1 or 2 more as the minimum isn't enough in most cases to provide you with a good night's sleep. Start winding down 2 hours prior to going to bed by avoiding drinking caffeine, soda, and sugary beverages. Drink water if you must and cut out eating or snacking. Turn the volume down on your tv, and any music that you have playing. Switch from upbeat music to more calming songs or sounds. An hour before bedtime institute your bedtime routine as you prepare to enjoy your bed. If possible turn off the tv as this will only keep you up,and prolong your sleep. Turn down your phone ringer, notifications, and other devices once you get into bed. Say something positive about yourself before you close your eyes to sleep. Developing a sleep routine will have a huge impact on your overall health and well-being. Make a plan and act on it and feel.the difference a good night's sleep will make.
