When we are overly busy, we may think how great it would be to have a break. We long to enjoy uninterrupted time, even for one hour, to nap or sit down and eat peacefully. Nevertheless, when allowed that time, we may become antsy to occupy our time. We sacrifice our free time to stay busy unintentionally. We have grown so accustomed to our ongoing activeness that we often require an intervention, a reminder, to just be and relax. When a trusted friend or loved one encourages our need to enjoy our break or, better yet, to schedule a break. We may think we are not using our time wisely if we sit around or lounge when that is what we need the most. That is what we need to do as close as we can get to, nothing much requiring extensive thoughts and a need-to-do list. It is okay to take a break without needing to stay in motion; it should be a requirement and on our routine schedule. Gaining comfortability with relaxation without the guilt of inactivity, but the joy in relaxation. Create serenity, and create it often!
