Like Them

You don't have to be like them. Why are you letting them dictate your life? You seek to fit in so you strive to be more like them. You don't want to feel rejected so you act as if you are like them. You go through the motions as you mimic their thoughts, habits, and alter your perceptions to be like them. Being like them takes you more away from being like you. Why not choose you? So what your laugh is high pitched, your face is round, your job title doesn't include executive, your car isn't new, and your clothes are from a thrift store. How can your value be determined by material possessions, looks, and titles? It's you who has a choice to make, so why not choose you and let others choose you for who you truly are?
