Just Relax

Sometimes you need a break, but you have so much to do that you can't imagine taking time to relax. Relaxation seems like a foreign concept. You have work and all the many tasks that come with the job. Because if you are not there, how will anything get done? Children, which comes with homework, extracurricular activities, parent association commitments, appointments, and not the mention household tasks. Cooking, cleaning, washing, folding, finding, sorting, storing, shopping, all to do it again the next day. There is an upcoming wedding, anniversary, or party, and the list can continue. The point is the tasks that we do on a daily or scheduled basis often are exempt from scheduling time to relax. Is the massage uninterrupted, or does the phone continue to buzz because you are afraid to turn it off because you may be needed? That goes for most of the times we try to relax, were still tethered to our electronic devices because we think we may be required and can't miss a call, email, or text. Relaxation means unplugging. If you have children, make arrangements and designate work-related calls to a trusted colleague. Realistically how many emergencies have happened while you took a few hours to unwind and rejuvenate? Make scheduling relaxation time a priority and ask others to respect your time. If you have the opportunity to become unavailable, then why not ain to schedule a day or two!
