In life, our growth is tested. We are tested with what we were comfortable with for so long that we get to a point where we outgrow it, or so we think. However, how do we react when faced with the same situation presented by a different person or environmental context? Where does that leave us when we continue to act as if we have changed when we have not done the work to change? When do we question leaving the coziness of our comfort zone as being of more value than the risk of staying within our nest? Comparing personal growth to another's misfortune to gain a sense of feeling better about oneself is an unfortunate illusion. Growth does not happen overnight and is a lifelong process. Each step is of value towards the next. However, there is no end in sight due to the unlimited ways that we can evolve—changing patterns embedded in us since childhood and learning new ways that fit within our life will be subject to change as we continue to outgrow what once worked. There is always a time to start the process, but it is up to you to begin the journey.
