You don't need to fit in anywhere as you bring your uniqueness wherever you go. Too often the need to fit in is placed as a priority, or it's so far embedded in one's way of thinking no second thought is given. Fitting in doesn't mean that you belong. Instead of fitting in, try to focus on the real shared life experiences and commonalities. The real you interacting with others who are genuine can create real friendships, relationships, and interactions. Just be you!
